About Safety Training and Consulting
Safety Training and Consulting was created with a clear purpose: to help companies and their teams understand how to work safely and effectively. With a strong background in compliance and human resources as Safety and HR specialists, we recognized early on that many businesses didn’t prioritize safety, seeing it as common sense or an unnecessary expense. As regulations grew stricter, we stepped in to build practical, engaging safety programs that truly matter.
While we serve a range of industries, most of our clients are in construction, manufacturing, mining, healthcare, or related fields. Our hands-on training approach helps people learn by doing, which improves understanding and compliance. Building our safety division took dedication and time, but it’s been rewarding to help clients get the most from their investment in safety and HR.
We work best with companies that genuinely care about improving safety, reducing risks, and protecting their teams. These clients often see better stability, less turnover, and higher profits. We’re proud of the trusted relationships we’ve built and are committed to delivering consistent, high-quality service to all clients, new and old.
You’ll find us at tradeshows and online as we expand our reach. We support small and medium businesses fully and assist larger companies with projects without taking over their internal teams. Across Canada, we’re part of a community of business owners dedicated to supporting one another’s growth and success.

Deborah Joslin
HR and safety compliance specialist | Leadership trainer
Founder and CEO
I started my own company because I wanted to offer a service I knew people needed. With a keen eye for detail, I focused on executive admin, bookkeeping, and payroll. My goal was to be approachable, knowledgeable, and a trusted confidant for clients. Helping them understand their numbers without feeling overwhelmed or judged.
Over time, I noticed that many businesses didn’t prioritize Safety and Human Resources as much as they should, so we started focusing on bridging that gap which became the company you see today.
Helping companies prevent injuries and illnesses became a real mission for me, it’s incredibly rewarding to solve challenging HR and safety issues and support teams in staying safe and thriving.
I was shy growing up but always listened closely, sometimes too much! Over time, I learned to overcome that shyness and now teach communication skills to leaders and employees across various sectors. I hold myself and my team to high standards because I want us all to be successful and happy. Balancing life while being a facilitator and CEO is a continuous learning process for me. I’m always growing and evolving in this role.
When I have the chance, I love getting outdoors for hiking or horseback riding, working on renovation projects, and tending to my garden. I’m a bit of a tool enthusiast and enjoy being creative. Spending time with my husband, our dogs Sadie and Ruby, and our horse Georgia is really important to me, as is time with friends, my mom, and close family.
David Ardito
Training and Compliance manager
With nearly 26 years in workplace health and safety, including 14 years as a trainer and consultant, I’ve had the privilege of supporting organizations across Canada and even some in the United States. For me, safety is about education, helping people make the right choices so they can go home safely at the end of every day. I also aim to simplify safety compliance for employers, showing them it doesn’t have to be complicated. In 2025, I completed my COHS (Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) from Toronto Metropolitan University, and am actively pursuing accreditation from the BCRSP.
At the heart of everything I do is my love for my wife, kids, and our amazing dog. When I’m not with them, you’ll likely find me working on a woodworking project, playing guitar, enjoying a game of baseball, or taking a (somewhat joking) long walk on the beach. Lately, I’ve been really interested in learning old-school woodworking joinery techniques. It’s fascinating to see how things were crafted with such skill and precision.
My favourite quote is by Winston Churchill, “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
