Safety Inspections

Safety inspections are a service provided to General Contractors and Project Managers in construction, as well as Management and Owners in manufacturing and industrial workplaces.

Our approach for safety inspections in the workplace and/or on jobsites is to view the project or work environment as we would expect a Ministry Inspector would conduct when they attend a location unannounced.

Our process includes:

  • Impromptu, whenever possible (arriving unannounced), as this way we are able to see the workers and workplace/project in real working condition
  • Sign-in and conduct the safety inspection with a Supervisor and/or a Safety Representative
  • Address urgent or major health and safety hazards or concerns right away. We educate the Supervisor and/or Safety Representative on applicable regulations, how to effectively correct the identified hazards and concerns 
  • We provide sustainable solutions and suggestions to fix and mitigate the  situation from reoccurring
  • A digital safety inspection report is provided within two business days which includes photos as deemed necessary (Note*photos are only shared within the company report, unless otherwise advised in writing by company Management)
  • The digital report will include notes and a score for measuring improvement or decline 
  • The company Supervisor and/or Safety Representative work together to correct any safety hazards or concerns identified in the safety inspection report and then they are to be accountable and report back to their Manager

Incident Investigations

We have conducted a variety of workplace and incident investigations related to safety and human resource matters. These include but are not limited to:

  • Reported allegations of workplace or jobsite violence, harassment, and sexual harassment
  • Near miss situations that could have been catastrophic where a new or better work process or procedure was required to mitigate the near miss from becoming a real incident.
  • We consult and provide the policy, procedure, and/or process with support for implementation OR we provide recommendations and outline what should be covered in a policy, procedure, or new process that can be drafted and implemented internally
